The first Grand Seiko, re-created in 18k yellow gold
This re-created model preserves the design of the first Grand Seiko launched in 1960, incorporating the manual winding mechanical Caliber 9S64.
The combination of case, strap and embossed Grand Seiko logo strongly evoke the style of the original model. It is offered in 18k yellow gold. The entire case is in gold, in place of the 80-micron gold–filled case used in the original.
The dual-curved sapphire crystal retains the original shape and gives the re-creation the same pleasingly gentle profile as the original. The gentle curve toward the outer edge of the domed dial lends the watch its classic look, which is enhanced by the dual sapphire crystal.
The 18k yellow gold markers have the same diamond cut as on the original watch.
This version is offered in 18k yellow gold. The entire case is in gold, in place of the 80-micron gold–filled case used in the original.
Using new techniques, the embossed Grand Seiko logo has the same sharp outline as the original.
The hour markers are also in 18k gold. The star mark at the six o’clock position indicates that this model uses gold for the hour markers.
The Grand Seiko lion on the case back
The case back is set to make the Grand Seiko emblem above the 3 o’clock position, which is also faithful to the original model.
