KING SEIKO SJE095 Features

This model is limited to 600 pieces worldwide.

In the 1960s, King Seiko timepieces contributed to Seiko Watch Corporation’s developments in world-leading technical precision. ‘King Seiko’ originated when multiple Seiko teams of experts created different watches to encourage innovation – one of the Japanese watch brand’s constant aims.

This King Seiko takes its roots of inspiration from the Japanese chrysanthemum flower – or ‘Kiku’, popular during the Edo period. A popular glassware of the period known as ‘Edo Kiriko’ featured a ‘Kiku tsunagi mon’ pattern, which has been replicated on the dial of this timepiece.

This model has a much slimmer case than previous versions, at only 10.7mm depth for increased comfort. It has a sapphire glass edge, for standout aesthetics which gives a sharper reflection. The hour and minute hands have a diamond cut specification which sparkle alongside the three-dimensional indices.

It has a 6L35 caliber movement, with accuracy of +15 to -10 seconds/day. Long live the new King Seiko: modernized elite watchmaking, yet its stately, dignified and majestically classic looks remain.

King Seiko SJE095 Features

KING SEIKO SJE095 Special

Renewed, enhanced and as striking as ever.

King Seiko Original KSK

The 1960’s was a decade of unprecedented advances for Seiko, both in terms of technical development and design creativity.
Alongside Grand Seiko, one other series demonstrated the company’s ability to create beautifully designed and finished mechanical watches with high accuracy. It was called King Seiko. In addition to its precision, it offered a powerful yet graceful design that symbolized the high quality of its construction. Today, after more than half a century, the King Seiko collection is back with timepieces that showcase the lasting quality of Seiko’s mechanical watchmaking.

The dial showcases the chrysanthemum pattern, central to Japanese culture.

King Seiko SJE095 Special

The patterned white dial is based on the chrysanthemum, a flower of great significance in Japanese culture that represents longevity and rejuvenation. The auspicious flower is expressed through a pattern of finely intersecting lines called kiku tsunagi-mon, which, in Japanese, signifies a chrysanthemum pattern that connects with itself.

Caliber 6L35

King Seiko SJE095 Caliber 9L35

Even with an automatic movement and the addition of a date window, the new watch retains its slim profile, thanks to the thinness of Caliber 6L35. The eight- beat- per- second movement has 26 jewels and a power reserve of 45 hours when fully wound.

In addition to the stainless steel bracelet, the watch comes with grey leather strap whose color and texture complement the patterned dial and enhance the creation’s versatility.

History of Seiko

The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewerly shop called “K. Hattori” (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha, meaning roughly “House of Exquisite Workmanship”.

The first watches produced under the Seiko brand appeared in 1924. In 1969, Seiko introduced the Astron, the world’s first production quartz watch, it cost the same as a medium-sized car. Seiko later went on to introduce the first quartz chronograph.
